PlayCom taps China games expert David Han
18 Nov 2017, in Corporate
Our successful market prospect in Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou has delivered the first deals with Chinese studios, and more importantly provided us with valuable insights to understand the local market for mobile games.
Historically Chinese studios have been specialists in developing and operating free-to-play game economics, and now they are quickly learning the taste and consumption habits of Western consumers. Market leaders like Elex, Funplus and IGG have already successfully entered the top charts, and a large number of smaller studios are following their path.
Games expert David Han has joined PlayCom to develop the Chinese market.
David and I have been in close contact for the last couple of years. His profound knowledge of game publishing, specifically in the fields of user acquisition and free-to-play monetisation, together with his long experience in the Chinese games market makes him a valuable asset for a Western company like us.
Karel de Beule, CEO at PlayCom
David will be working from China and Germany, linking with both the local market and our sales headquarters in Berlin.
